Alexandra Bellon is a multidisciplinary artist and performer based in Geneva(CH), driven by a percussive & drum pulse.
“Within my practice, division of territories, seems to be impossible. Like approaching the human body: it’s anatomy is strongly interdependent and interlinked, by cutting it up in single pieces, you kill the rhythm of its heart.”
She obtained a BA in percussion and two MA degrees (pedagogy & music interpretation) at the HEM, Geneva(CH). Between 2003 and 2015, she worked as a percussionist with: l’Orchestre de la Suisse Romande(CH), Verbier Festival Orchestra(CH), etc. As a pluridisciplinary artist she worked on various projects engined by the visual arts. Doing research from a cultural perspective without establishing criteria or predefined guidelines results into a method that could be described as ‘the unfocused gaze’. As a pluridisciplinary artist she worked on various projects engined by the passion and core of her practice, rhythm. Each time bringing this within different roles: co-conceptor, composer, performer, co-choreographer, dancer, musician. She colaborated among others with Michèle Pralong (CH), collective la Distillerie(CH), Brice Catherin (FR), Young Soon Cho Jacquet (KR/CH), Jens Van Daele Burning Bridges (NL), ‘IF’ company (CH), Christian Denisart (CH) Audrey Bergeron (CAN).
She is co-founder of Ensemble Batida (Bourse Leenaards 2018, Prix Jean François Chaponnière 2013, Lauréat of Nicati 2013, Prix Orpheus 2011), a collective of 5 musicians founded in 2010. Their work unfolds in three spectrums: performing contemporary compositions, bringing on stage improvised concerts and creating transdisciplinary projects in which invented instruments, objects and unusual configurations unfold like poetic visual and sonic architectures.
Together with Anna Benzakoun and Marie Mercier she has founded the explosive music trio Parasite Dans S. A trio that through imrpovisation and inspired by the fusion of the past, the present and the ultra future creates delirious sound experiences.
Among multiple bands she is part of the percussion ensemble Eklekto (CH), Insub Meta Orchestra.
In 2017 she formed the multidisciplinary duo K&A together with Karla Isidorou. K&A’s projects start from an intuitive need and a tendency to move off the beaten path and often research the limits of the human body. As theatermakers, they find inspiration in contemporary social-political realities. A driving force is their own hunger for new forms, techniques and methods. They work off the beaten path and challenge their audience to follow them in the jungle through theatrical means, performances and installations.
She teaches percussion and drums at Lyre de Chêne-Bougeries and works as a dance accompanist for CFP Arts in Geneva.
For her composition of “CHANGE THE GAME” by K&A, Alexandra Bellon received the composition commission from Nicati-de Luze, from the Swiss Authors’ Society (SSA), for “On&On&On” at the Théâtre de l’Arsenic in Lausanne, January 2023. In 2021, she was awarded a research grant for “Ongoing Rhythms” from ProHelvetia and the prestigious composition grant for three works from the Landys & Gyr Foundation (2022).

Alexandra Bellon est une musicienne, compositrice, artiste multidisciplinaire et performer basée à Genève (CH), animée par la pulsation des percussions et des tambours.

Après ses études à Créteil (FR), elle obtient un Bachelor en percussion et deux Masters (pédagogie & interprétation musicale) à la HEM, Genève (CH). En tant qu’artiste pluridisciplinaire, elle a travaillé sur de nombreux projets animées par la passion de la transe du rythme. Chaque fois, elle prend différents rôles : conceptrice, compositrice, interprète, chorégraphe, danseuse, musicienne. Elle a collaboré entre autres avec Michèle Pralong (CH), le collectif la Distillerie (CH), Brice Catherin (FR), Young Soon Cho Jacquet (KR/CH), Jens Van Daele Burning Bridges (NL), la compagnie ‘IF’ (CH), Christian Denisart (CH) Audrey Bergeron (CAN).
Elle est co-fondatrice de l’Ensemble Batida (Bourse Leenaards 2018, Prix Jean François Chaponnière 2013, Lauréat de Nicati 2013, Prix Orpheus 2011), un collectif de 4 musiciennes fondé en 2010 à Genève. Leur travail se déploie sur trois spectres : l’interprétation de compositions contemporaines, la mise en scène de concerts improvisés combinant la force acoustique percutante avec le spectre sonore de la musique électronique et la création de projets transdisciplinaires dans lesquels des instruments inventés, des objets et des configurations inhabituelles se déploient comme des architectures poétiques visuelles et sonores.
Avec Anna Benzakoun et Marie Mercier, elles ont fondé le groupe explosif Parasite Sans S, un groupe qui, depuis 2015, crée des expériences sonores punk et improvisées qui hybride le passé, le présent et l’ultra futur – trio pour lequel Alexandra Bellon développe un jeu de batterie singulier.
En 2017, elle forme le duo multidisciplinaire K&A avec Karla Isidorou. Les projets de K&A naissent d’un besoin intuitif et d’une tendance à s’éloigner des sentiers battus, explorant souvent les limites du corps humain. En tant que créateurs de théâtre, ils trouvent leur inspiration dans les réalités sociopolitiques contemporaines. Une force motrice est leur propre soif de nouvelles formes, techniques et méthodes. Ils empruntent des chemins peu fréquentés et invitent leur public à les suivre dans la jungle à travers des pièces théâtrales, des performances et des installations.
Elle enseigne les percussions et la batterie à la Lyre de Chêne-Bougeries, est accompagnatrice danse pour le CFP Arts de Genève.
Pour sa composition de “CHANGE THE GAME” de K&A, Alexandra Bellon a reçu la commande de composition de Nicati-de Luze, de la SSA (société suisse des auteurs) pour “On&On&On” théâtre de l’Arsenic, Lausanne, janv. 2023. En 2021, elle a reçu une bourse de recherche pour “Ongoing Rhythms” de ProHelvetia et la prestigieuse bourse de composition pour 3 oeuvres de la Fondation Landys & Gyr (2022)
